Mitchell is slated to receive the 2026 lifetime achievement award, presented by the National Arts Centre. Mitchell’s five Juno Awards include induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1981.

Mitchell, 82, won a Grammy Award — her 11th — on Feb. 1. She and Patrick Milligan shared the award for best historical album for Joni Mitchell Archives – Vol. 4: The Asylum Years (1976-1980). The award was presented at the Premiere Ceremony, but host Trevor Noah congratulated her on her win on the telecast as he chatted with artists seated near the stage.

Mitchell had made her Grammy performance debut on the 2024 ceremony, where she performed her classic “Both Sides, Now” joined by Russell, Brandi Carlile, SistaStrings, Blake Mills, Lucius and Jacob Collier.

Mitchell has received numerous top honors in recent years. She received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021 and the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song in 2023. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1997 and received a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2002.

McLachlan, 58, is a 12-time Juno Award winner and is nominated again this year for adult contemporary album of the year for Better Broken. Russell, 44, is a two-time Juno winner, for contemporary roots album of the year for Outside Child (2022) and music video of the year for “Demons” (2024).

This year’s Juno Awards broadcast will also feature a performance by five-time Juno nominee Cameron Whitcomb. Previously announced performers include Arkells, The Beaches and William Prince.

The Juno Awards will be held at TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Mae Martin, making them the first non-binary person to host the ceremony and the first comedian since Russell Peters to do the honors.

As previously announced, Nelly Furtado will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Daniel Caesar will receive the Juno international achievement award. The Walt Grealis special achievement award will be presented to Sandy Pandya of ArtHaus, Vinny Cinquemani of Paquin Entertainment and Alexander Mair of Attic Records. Rock band Billy Talent will receive the Juno Humanitarian Award.
